NIU MQi GT EVO

The MQI GT EVO is an electric smart scooter created by electric scooter brand NIU from China. The company was founded in 2014 by the former CTO of Baidu (the Chinese Google) and a former employee of Microsoft. The company is listed on NASDAQ and provides exceptionally high-quality and durable products.

The MQI GT EVO is a 125cc motorcycle version of the widely popular MQi-Series.

The scooter has a 5 000 ვატი (6 500 ვატი peak power) electric motor for a top speed of 100 კმ/სთ.

The MQI GT EVO has two removable 26 ამპ.სთ lithium batteries with NIU Energy™ AI technology. The batteries are of the same type as the batteries in the Tesla Model S. NIU offers 2 years warranty on the battery and promises a battery life of 5 years.

The batteries are placed in the center footwell which results in a low center of gravity. The scooter is optimized for a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution, which provides efficient and smooth cornering and overtaking.

The MQI GT EVO has received extra attention for safety. The scooter is equipped with an eABS braking system that provides an optimal braking performance. The system also provides in a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) or regenerative braking in which energy from braking is returned to the battery. Other safety features include 360-degree lighting around the scooter.

The scooter is cloud connected and receives over-the-air (OTA) software upgrades and pro-active monitoring of the health of the scooter.

Smart Scooter

The MQI GT EVO is a true smart scooter that connects to a smart phone. Everything from battery monitoring to GPS to ride history, the NIU app keeps the driver connected and up-to-date with the whereabouts and health of the MQI GT EVO. The app provides in an anti-theft system that warns the driver when the scooter is moved. With GPS it is possible to track the position of the scooter in real time.

The MQI GT EVO has a built-in SIM slot for and is provided with a prepaid SIM card by Vodafone.

The MQI GT EVO has cruise control, parking assistant, a sensor based safety alert system and much more smart features. The scooter has a remote control to locate the scooter in the dark. When pressed, the scooter lights will turn on and the scooter will make a sound.

IP65 waterproof

The MQI GT EVO is waterproof and can drive through water. The scooter will enable to continue driving during floods and storms while most petrol scooters will fail.

The MQI GT EVO has a 20 liter seat compartment that fits a helmet. The seat can be unlocked using NFC.

The MQI GT EVO has a glove compartment and provides both USB-A and USB-C charge ports.
